Scandinavian Water Technology AS (Scanwater) in Malthe Winje Group, has through the last years had increasing activities in Kenya, and because of this there is a need for recruiting more people to the office in Nairobi. In 2023 Scanwater is delivering a local water-producing and wastewater treatments system in Nyandarua County. In this joint project the collaborators are Nyandaruan county officials, Kenya Red Cross, Kenyan and Norwegian companies, and universities and research institutes in a project partly financed by Innovation Norway.
The project aims to battle the lack of water and wastewater infrastructure by developing mobile, easily deployed, local systems that produce safe drinking water, reuse the greywater, and safely dispose of the sludge.
As a part of the project team Teresia Wambui Ngugi is now employed to ensure project activity implementation in Kenya. Her main tasks will be to follow the project and to assist the Malthe Winje Group branch office in Nairobi. From earlier her experiences include lecturing, project planning and management, community mobilization and collective action, development studies and ethics amongst others.
